FUSION - Silver Chrome
|
|
|
*Fast Fusion - Silver Chrome has excellent opacity and is press ready. Fast Fusion Metallic inks produce excellent conventional cold peel transfers. Fast Fusion Silver Chrome offers the following advantages:
|
|
| RECOMMENDATIONS | |
| Fabric: Fast Fusion Silver Chrome will prevent or substantially reduce shrinkage of heat sensitive fabrics. Fast Fusion Silver Chrome may be printed on Lycra fabrics with excellent results. Cold peel release transfer papers are recommended to produce heat transfers. | |
| Mesh: Fast Fusion Silver Chrome may be printed through a mesh count range of 25T/cm to 55T/cm without the need to alter viscosity. For light garments Fast Fusion Silver Chrome may be printed through mesh counts between 43T and 90T. | |
| Frames: Higher tension is recommended for maximum screen mesh and registration stability. High tension allows maximum ink deposit and coverage with less squeegee pressure resulting in reduced fatigue on the stencil and mesh. | |
| Emulsion: Screens may be prepared with conventional direct emulsions and capillary films. An even emulsion deposit results in smoother and more even plastisol deposit. | |
| Squeegee: Typical hard and sharp, ie. 60 - 70 durometer. With correct ink flooding less squeegee pressure is required to transfer ink to substrate. | |
| Equipment: Manual or automatic. | |
| Extender: Fast Fusion Curable Reducer or Fast Fusion Base may be added to extend but will reduce opacity. | |
| Gel/Flash: Fast Fusion Silver Chrome can be flashed between 72°C - 85°C. The variables are power supply: efficiency of the flash unit and height above the ink deposit. Over flashing should be avoided, as inks remelt at 145°C also poor adhesion between overprint colours can occur. | |
| Fusion: 130°C. | |
| Clean up: Mineral Spirit, some biodegradable screen washes. | |
| Storage: 18°C - 32°C. Avoid storage in direct sunlight and or extreme temperature conditions. | |
| Packing: 1 Kilo, 4 Kilo, and 20 Kilo. | |

SPECIALTY INKS - 3D
|
3D
|
|
| Description: Western Star produces 10 standard single pigment 3D Mixing System colours that can be mixed and matched. The Base is curable and formulated to have good adhesion properties in addition to increased elongation. 3D will work well in applications requiring heavy deposits and multiple ink layers. | |
| Substrates: 3D may be printed on cotton, cotton blends and polyester. | |
| Flash: 3D may be flashed between 80°C - 90°C. Over flashing should be avoided, it will cause poor adhesion between ink layers. | |
| Curing: 3D prints are very thick deposits of ink, longer times in the oven is required. Turning down the temperature to avoid scorching is highly recommended. The actual time required will increase with the thickness of ink, and decrease when forced air is used to promote curing. Cure can be easily checked by stretching the print. Cracks indicate that further curing is necessary. If the ink can be easily picked off, the image should be cured further. Fusion 145°C. | |
| Screens: 24 threads per centimetre is recommended on retensionable frames, tensioned to at least 30 newtons per centimetre. S is recommended and if possible in a dyed thread, although mesh this coarse is not usually available in any colour but white. | |
| Pigment Dispersions: 3D Base is a curable base and should be treated as such. As a guide we recommend: | |
| Colour : A maximum of 10% pigment loading may be added. | |
| White: Maximum of 30% loading of Extra White PC may be added. (i.e. plasticiser level in the Extra White PC must be Max. 25%). | |
| Reduction: 3D Base is formulated to a very a high viscosity. Western Star Fast Fusion Plastisol Thinner may be used to modify viscosity - Maximum of 5%. | |
| Storage: Avoid direct sunlight and or extreme temperature conditions. Store below 30°C. It highly recommended that the lid be placed on container when not in use. | |
