FAST FUSION PLASTISOLS

FAST
FUSION SERIES
|
|
| DESCRIPTION - Fast Fusing - Low Cure plastisol is formulated to cure at lower temperatures than standard plastisol inks. FF will cure at temperatures low enough to prevent or considerably reduce shrinkage of heat sensitive fabrics. A comprehensive range of ready mixed colours is suitable for printing on both manual and automatic equipment. Formulated to give excellent elongation, durability and tensile strength. Conventional heat transfers can also be produced when used with cold peel paper. Excellent results can be achieved when using Fast Fusion Base as a foil adhesive. | |
| RECOMMENDED FABRICS - Fast Fusion ink is generally used on Lycra/Spandex fabrics. 100% cotton, cotton/synthetic blends, acrylics and some nylons (Open weave or Mesh). FF plastisols are not bleed resistant, testing fabrics for dye migration and sublimation is recommended. | |
| RECOMMENDED MESH - 34T/cm - 55T/cm monofilament polyester for optimum opacity on dark garments and underlays, while mesh counts up to 43T/cm - 90T/cm can be used on white or light coloured garments. | |
| MODIFIERS - This ink range is considered ready for use and, like all plastisols, should be stirred before use. However, if modification is required, then the following recommendations are made. For reducing viscosity use FF Plastisol Thinner to a maximum of 3% or FF Curable Reducer in any amount. Curable Reducer may also be added to 10% by weight, higher levels may reduce elongation, durability and tensile strength properties. | |
| CURE TEMPERATURE - FF may be flashed at between 75°C - 90°C. For proper curing, FF inks must reach at least 135°C and is dependent on ink deposit, colour and dryer efficiency. FF inks re-melt at 145°C, over flashing may produce tack and poor adhesion of overprint colours. | |
| WASH FASTNESS - When properly cured all Western Star plastisols exhibit excellent wash fastness. However, plastisol prints should not be bleached or ironed and dry cleaning is not recommended. | |
| CLEAN UP - White spirit, turpentine substitute and some biodegradable screen washes. | |
| PACKAGING - 1 kilo tubs, 4 kilo tubs, 20 litre pails, and 200 litre drums. | |
| STORAGE - Avoid extremes of temperature and direct sunlight. Recommended storage temperatures 20°C - 30°C. | |
